Refunds and chargebacks

Draft policy for reader sponsorships. Publishers may have stricter rules in their own terms; the stricter of the two will apply to the extent enforceable.

When we refund

If checkout charged you and the ad-free cookie never landed, or the recipe URL was not the one quoted, email hello@recipeyield.io from the address you used. We will refund the Stripe payment when the charge is still refundable and revoke the server-side entitlement.

What refunds do not do

Revoking Mongo entitlements is immediate. The JWT cookie on the device lasts until it expires unless you open the clear-cookie link from the email. A refund does not automatically wipe every browser you used.

Chargebacks

A dispute through the card network is treated as a revoke of that payment’s entitlement. Repeated disputes may lead us to refuse future OTP and checkout for that email.

Publisher share

Connect refunds unwind through Stripe according to the connected account’s settings. Weekly emails will show refunded items. This draft does not promise a particular clawback timeline beyond what Stripe provides.
